    Really depressed today.

Watching The Mentalists and I just wondered was that the same cemetery where Sam and Dean dug up the Fox sisters the same cemetery where they went after the zombie/resurrected dead person in Children Should Not Play with Dead Things?

    1. Paula R. Stiles

It could have been. I haven’t watched The Mentalists in a while.

Yeah, I can’t say I’m impressed with the election results, either. I anticipate there will be considerable buyer’s remorse over that, and soon.

OK Supernatural went up to #2 on the CW playlist in Episode 4; where can I find the what is going on with the rest of the CW shows (just for comparative reasons, I also want to see if no Arthur Darville has hit Legends of Tomorrow’s ratings, AND if now being stripped on TNT is helping Arrow’s ratings. Golly, I don’t like Arrow. I can’t get around the idea that Starling City is the most important city-state in North America; I could ‘get’ Gotham or Metropolis as being that important and a stand-in for New York but Starling City? Nope.) because I want to be ‘sure’ of Supernatural being renewed?

I go to io9.gizmodo.com every morning for Morning Spoilers and they keep writing reviews/discussions of Supergirl and other CW super-hero shows but there is never anything about Supernatural so I know there is no ‘genre’ buzz about Supernatural there, but there is all the other stuff about the show (like the EW cover).

    1. Paula R. Stiles

io9 tends to ignore Supernatural. Always has. There’s this thing among some online fanboys that Supernatural is full of girl cooties, even though the show’s gender split has always been about 50/50.

Laurel becoming Black Canary put me off Arrow completely and I can’t seem to get back into it. I like Supergirl, but my freakin’ DVR keeps bumping it for other shows due to Monday being so stuffed. Quite frustrating.

SPN came in second last week on the network. Right now, it is as safe as houses.

Two thoughts about the episode: Time after Time after Time was on TNT today and Dean was lamenting ‘freain’ time travel, man’ and said that if he stayed stuck in 1944 he might have to go to Europe and punch Hitler in the neck. And he did, he knocked him down and kind sorta hit him in the lower jaw/neck area. I thought that was damn fine continuity from season 7 to season 12.

Second everybody noted that Hitler was kind of a wacky dude: I have read in numerous books/seen numerous shows which assert that Hitler was flying on uppers prescribed by his doctors. Now he got out of the watch and was HIGH as a kite. “I like dogs” indeed.

The show’s portrayal actually fit with what I have previously known about Hitler. Thought that was strange.

    1. Marisol

I hadn’t noticed the continuity with Hitler thing, that’s pretty neat. On the other hand, it means the writer did research earlier episodes and still wrote a bad one. Cool, good times to look forward to. So far though, not a bad season but not sure I could really describe any single episode since the premiere except that Mary came back and then left. Poor Dean.

    2. Paula R. Stiles

Yeah, a lot of people are having issues with the way Hitler came across in the episode without realizing that how they perceived Hitler has a lot to do with how Nazi propaganda pumped him up. The real Hitler was…really odd.

  4. evave2

I liked the episode a lot better on rewatch. This was a ‘lot’ more equal. I also noted that they are letting Sam make contact with the guests (both boy and girl) because in this case he had a lot more in common with them both. By the end of the episode the girl had no problem believing Sam was Lucifer’s Vessel.

And once somebody mentioned that Keenan Tracey was Ian Tracey’s son (he did a decent job I thought) I could ‘really’ see Ian Tracey in him.

I liked in this episode that people noted Hitler was looney tunes; it seems his staff while totally loyal and had just forgotten that the dude was the kind of guy who would blow birthday whistles for kicks.

I just hope that when the BMOL show up again that Dean discusses the Thule (which ‘their’ ally Aaron and his golem are wiping out) and why the BMOL were not up to date on ‘their’ European problem. It has ‘read’ to me this season that the BMOL are particular to England so are there ‘other’ chapter houses do you think or is Britain the only one (I mean Eileen mentioned the MOL but said they were defunct, right?) otherwise in the whole wide world?

Anyway, lastly, I loved the ‘pie continuity.’

  5. evave2

By equal I meant equal between Sam and Dean; usually Dean ‘bonds’ with the guest(s) but here it was Sam.

I did not hate the son; but I wonder if Mr Ketch will be chasing him down. The Thule aren’t witches, right? I don’t know what the difference is between Necromancers and witches. It seemed to me the Thule use spells to stay young but I did not see them being much different from the BMOL who also use spells So none of these people are witches, which is something else.

Hey, how would the BMOL stop demon deals in the UK proper?
