Sci-fi Spoilerpalooza

For the US fans of UK’s science fiction comedy Red Dwarf, season 11 of the show will be out on DVD in the states on November 8. For fans in the UK, it will be released a week later on November 14.

Good and bad news for fans of The Strain: The show has been renewed for a fourth season, but it will be its last season as well.

TV Line has up the news on the CW’s big multi-show crossover (Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow) which will see the heroes coming up against the villains, the Dominators, an alien race from the comics. Variety has up a video interview with Greg Berlanti about the epic crossover.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Spoiler TV has up the promotional photos for episode three, as well as the official synopsis.

Arrow: Actress Susanna Thompson (Moira Queen) has been announced to return in the 100th episode. According to Stephen Amell’s Twitter account, Manu Bennett (Deathstroke) will also be returning. TV Line has up the promotional photos for episode two.

The Defenders: Actress Simone Missick confirmed to the Wrap that she will be appearing in The Defenders.

Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency: BBC America has up an interview with Hannah Marks.

The Flash: TV Line has up the first look photos of Tom Felton as well as the return of John Wesley Shipp as Jay Garrick.

Legends of Tomorrow: TV Line has up the promotional photos of the Justice League of America’s appearance on the show, set for October 20. Lance Hendrickson confirmed in an interview with Comic Book.com that his character Obsidian is the son of Green Lantern Alan Scott, as he is in the comic books.

Lucifer: TV Line has up a sneak peek of Lucifer and his “mum.”

The Magicians: Actor Chistopher Gorham (Covert Affairs) has been cast in a recurring role as Senator John Gaines.

Once Upon A Time: EW has up an interview with actor Colin O’Donoghue. Spoiler TV has up the links to some set photos of Jasmine, Aladdin, Emma, and Regina. Good news for fans of Regina’s lost love, Robin Hood: Actor Sean Maguire is set to return for multiple episodes. EW has some scoop on Rump and Belle’s chances of romantic survival. TV Insider has up a rundown on the seven things they learned in the premiere. Executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz spoke with EW about whether or not Emma is doomed. TV Line has up an interview with the EP duo, too, as well as The Hollywood Reporter.

Outcast: Actor C. Thomas Howell (em> Animal Kingdom) has been cast in a recurring role as a “mysterious figure.”

Outlander: The show has cast actor César Domboy (The Walk) as the adult version of Fergus. EW has up the first photos of the new season.

Timeless: Tina Charles over at the TV Addict has an interview with Eric Kripke about his new show with “Five Things You Need To Know” about it. Bad news for Kripke and the show: They are being sued over the show’s premise.

Over at E!Online, the latest Spoiler Room has spoilers on shows The Vampire Diaries, The Flash, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Arrow.

At TV Line, the latest Ask Ausiello is oversized (two pages!) and has spoilers on shows Supernatural, Arrow, Grimm, Once Upon a Time, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Orphan Black, The Flash, Supergirl, and Fear the Walking Dead.

Supernatural (Wednesday nights, 9pm, CW)

The show will be moving to Thursdays at 9pm after Legends of Tomorrow this fall. It returns next Thursday with season 12. No repeats this week.

There’s a new extended preview out, as well as a new bumper for the season and a general CW preview that includes sharp objects.

The CW has renewed a deal with Netflix and expanded it, in the wake of being dropped from Hulu. Season 11 should be up in time for the new season to come out.

The season 12 premiere is called “Keep Calm and Carry On,” and is written by Andrew Dabb. It’s been confirmed that the show will have 23 episodes again this season. Filming started on July 12. We got a bunch of official photos from the season premiere. The press release is also out:

MAMA WINCHESTER IS BACK – Dean (Jensen Ackles) is overwhelmed as he comes face to face with his mom, Mary Winchester (guest star Samantha Smith). Meanwhile, Sam (Jared Padalecki) is fighting for his life after Toni, from the Woman of Letters, shot him. Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Andrew Dabb (#1201). Original airdate 10/13/2016.

“Mamma Mia” – (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LSV) (HDTV)

RICK SPRINGFIELD GUEST STARS — Dean (Jensen Ackles), Castiel (Misha Collins) and Mary (guest star Samantha Smith) have a lead on Sam (Jared Padalecki) and set out to rescue him. Dean is uncomfortable with putting Mary in danger but she insists on going along. Meanwhile, Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard) is tipped off that Lucifer has taken over the body of rock star Vince Vicente (guest star Rick Springfield). Thomas J. Wright directed the episode written by Brad Buckner & Eugenie Ross-Leming (#1202). Original airdate 10/10/2016.

There is a brief featurette about Crowley up.

The ratings for the repeat of “Alpha and Omega” rose a bit to a 0.3/1 and 930 thousand.
