Doctor Who (Saturday nights, 9pm, BBC America)
By Heather S. Vina

There’s a new season nine prologue video out. Whom could the Doctor and the Priestess of Karn be speaking of?

There’s also a new promo out.

The synopsis is out for the first episode, “The Magician’s Apprentice”:

Where is the Doctor? When the skies of Earth are frozen by a mysterious alien force, Clara needs her friend. But where is the Doctor, and what is he hiding from?

As past deeds come back to haunt him, old enemies will come face-to-face, and for the Doctor and Clara survival seems impossible.

The synopsis is out for “The Witch’s Familiar,” episode two, as well:

Trapped and alone in a terrifying Dalek city, the Doctor is at the heart of an evil Empire; no sonic, no TARDIS, nobody to help.

With his greatest temptation before him, can the Doctor resist? And will there be mercy?

Peter Capaldi has an interview up with the Telegraph on playing the Doctor.

A set of video interviews has been released, featuring Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman, and Steven Moffat.

And another video on how the Doctor and Clara’s relationship has changed in season nine.

iTunes has up a preview for the season, including an interview with Jenna Coleman and Peter Capaldi, by Will Wheaton.

Supernatural (Tuesday nights, 9pm, CW)
By Paula R. Stiles

The season is over, so no new episodes until October 7 (Yes, the dreaded Hellatus is upon us). And still no repeats for a while, either.

Welp, the network has finally kicked off the spoilers season. The official season trailer (which is very cool in a 70s Exploitation sort of way) is out, as is the new season poster. Titles so far are “Out of the Darkness, Into the Fire” (11.01), “Form and Void” (11.02), “The Bad Seed” (11.03), and “Baby” (11.04).

This is in addition to the iTunes documentary and Official photos for the season premiere that came out last week.

TV Line has a few spoilers up in its Fall TV preview, though nothing terribly earth-shattering.

There’s a new interview out with Jensen Ackles, though the current video is cut off. There are also extra snippets of it here and here.

In addition, Ackles and Jared Padalecki gave a joint interview in which Ackles, especially, went into a bit more detail about the fallout from Dean losing the Mark and reaping Death.

The show had its tenth year anniversary (of when the first episode aired) yesterday. TV Guide did a repost of the show’s original fall preview, which is hilarious in retrospect (What the heck is Jensen Ackles wearing?!).

The cast celebrated those ten years at Dallascon this past weekend.

Season Ten is now out on DVD and Blu-ray.

We’ll be back next week with more news, spoilers and blatantly unabashed self-promotion. Stay tuned and check out our reviews of Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Torchwood, The Event, Once Upon a Time, Grimm and Supernatural.
