Doctor Who (Saturday nights, 9pm, BBC America)

In anticipation of the season premiere, IGN has up a “Guide to All the Doctors.

Anglophile has up a lovely article about “10 Things You May Not Know About” the episode, “The Doctor’s Wife,” written by Neil Gaiman. That’s one of my favorite episodes and one of the best all-time Who episodes ever, in my opinion.


Sci-fi Spoilerpalooza

AMC is planning a spinoff/prequel to its The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead franchise with a “zombie on the plane” stand-alone. The character who survives the plane incident will go on to join the Fear the Walking Dead characters in season two.

FOX announced that the formerly titled The Frankenstein Code has been renamed Lookinglass.

The 100: Actress Brenda Strong (Desperate Housewives) has been cast as Queen Nia of the Ice Nation.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: EW has up the press release for season three. Former NFL player Matthew Willig has been cast as Inhuman Lash.

American Horror Story: The site Blastr has up two new teasers for the show. EW has up some details from Ryan Murphy, and actors Max Greenfield and Sarah Paulson on “the most disturbing scene” the show has ever done. Ryan Murphy revealed on his Twitter the first promotional photo of Lady Gaga as the Countess. EW has up an exclusive set of promotional photos of Lady Gaga, as well as some details about her and other’s characters, and an interview with Ryan Murphy.

Dark Matter: Following this past week’s season finale, showrunner Joseph Mallozzi spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the reveals in the finale and his plans for season two. No word yet on whether the show will be renewed.

Defiance: The season finale aired this past week. While there is no word yet on whether or not the show will receive a fourth season, actress Julie Benz gave an interview to TV Line about several things.

Fear the Walking Dead: The show premiered to amazing numbers (globally as well) and several post-mortem articles came out, breaking down the season opener. Star Kim Dickens spoke with EW. Showrunner Dave Erickson spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and EW. Erickson also spoke with IGN before the episode aired, on the perils of writing a show where your audience knows what is going to happen, already. Actors Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, and Alycia Debnam-Carey spoke with The Hollywood Reporter on which character will die first. Alycia Debnam-Carey gave an interview to IGN.

The Flash: The show has cast actor Demore Barnes (Supernatural, 12 Monkeys) as villain Henry Hewitt, AKA Tokamak. Actress Malese Jow is set to return as Linda Park. Newcomer Violett Beane has been cast as female speedster Jesse Quick. Spoiler TV has up a promo teaser that was shown in Australia.

Gotham: Spoiler TV has up the promotional photos of the cast for season two.

Heroes Reborn: Spoiler TV has up two new promos for the show. They also have up the latest character teasers, featuring Noah and new characters Carlos, Miko, Malina, Joanne, and Tommy.

Killjoys: Creator and showrunner Michelle Lovretta spoke with The Hollywood Reporter on season one and her plans for season two. With no word on a second season, fans have started a petition urging Space and Syfy to renew the show.

Legends of Tomorrow: The DC Legends TV site spoke with Phil Klemmer on the new show and the crossovers. Klemmer confirmed that newly announced character Hawkman will be a regular.

Luke Cage: IGN has up some new details on the upcoming Marvel Netflix show.

Once Upon A Time: Spoiler TV has up a collection of tweets featuring behind-the-scenes photos. TV Line has up some teases from Adam Horowitz on the title of the season premiere, “Dreamcatcher.”

Outlander: The show is casting Claire and Jamie’s daughter Brianna. It seems there might be a departure from the books with the casting coming so early in the series.

The Shannara Chronicles: Spoiler TV has up the latest promotional photos for the new show.

Sleepy Hollow: Spoiler TV has up the first promotional photo of the show, featuring Ichabod Crane.

Teen Wolf: The mid-season finale happened this past week, and several post-mortem articles and interviews came out about it. EW spoke with Jeff Davis. TV Line spoke with Davis, as well. EW spoke with Tyler Posey. The Hollywood Reporter spoke with Jeff Davis.

The Vampire Diaries: Spoiler TV has up the promotional photos for the premiere.

The Walking Dead: Steven Yeun has up an interview with EW on where the characters are in season six. Lauren Cohan spoke with EW about how “suffocating” the season opener is for the characters.

Over at TV Line, the latest Ask Ausiello has spoilers on shows Once Upon a Time and Arrow.

EW’s latest Spoiler Room has spoilers on shows Sleepy Hollow, The Flash, The Originals, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Gotham.


Supernatural (Tuesday nights, 9pm, CW)

The season is over, so no new episodes until October 7 (Yes, the dreaded Hellatus is upon us). And no repeats for a while, either.

The show now has an official Instagram account.

Vancon was this past weekend. Also, Jensen Ackles gave an interview to EW in which he confirmed that the Darkness will be a single femme fatale character. He insisted that she may not be evil but more of a “primal force.” Hmm. Might Dean end up being seduced?

There’s an onset photo from Canadagraphs of Jared Padalecki in a suit on a bus or train.

The show appeared in a study on women directors in the TV industry.

Eric Showalter will be directing episode 11.06, about which we currently know nothing else.

On the heels of show creator Eric Kripke’s departure from Warner Bros last week for Sony, Kripke has landed a new series pickup with NBC.
