Supernatural (Wednesday nights, 9pm, CW)

The season is over and Hellatus has officially begun. No more season 11 repeats for now.

The show will be moving to Thursdays at 9pm after Legends of Tomorrow this fall. It returns on October 13 with season 12.

The CW has renewed a deal with Netflix and expanded it, in the wake of being dropped from Hulu.

The season 12 premiere is called “Keep Calm and Carry On,” and is written by Andrew Dabb. It’s been confirmed that the show will have 23 episodes again this season. Filming started on July 12.

The DVD/Blu-ray for season 11 will be out on September 6. You can find the cover art and inside details here.

The season 12 poster used at Comic-Con is out.

Jensen Ackles and his wife Danneel Harris are expecting twins later this year, which is probably why he decided not to direct this season.

Network head Mark Pedowitz gave an interview in which he suggested that the show could outlast his tenure with the CW if its ratings hold. Pedowitz stated that some of the lead shows would have 22 episodes this season, but all of the writers and producers for those shows, including Jim Michaels from Supernatural, insisted that they are still doing 23-episode seasons.

Ackles and Jared Padalecki were interviewed about Mary’s return.

TV Line discussed the return of the Thule with new showrunner Andrew Dabb, though nothing he didn’t already mention at Comic-Con.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan has finally joined Twitter.

The show is now celebrating Supernatural Day on September 13. Talk Like a Pirate Day is six days later. Arrrrrr.

There was a con this weekend in Minneapolis.

No repeat ratings this week.

We’ll be back next week with more news, spoilers and blatantly unabashed self-promotion. Stay tuned and check out our reviews of Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Torchwood, The Event, Once Upon a Time, Grimm and Supernatural.
