Mexican by birth, Canadian by inclination. Silvia’s debut novel, Signal to Noise, about music, magic and Mexico City, was released in 2015 by Solaris and won a Copper Cylinder Award. Her second novel is Certain Dark Things, about vampires in Mexico City. Silvia’s first collection, This Strange Way of Dying, was a finalist for the Sunburst Award for Excellence in Canadian Literature of the Fantastic. Her stories have also been collected in Love & Other Poisons. She has edited several books: She Walks in Shadows, co-edited with Paula R. Stiles, won a World Fantasy Award.
