January Recap
If you were too busy to check our daily content (shame on you), we’ve assembled a quick list of cool stuff that happened at Innsmouth Free Press this January 2010. We interviewed writer and editor William Jones, talked to Lovecraftian artist Jeff Remmer, chatted with illustrator Jacob Glasser, musician Casey Rae-Hunter and Jerad Walters from Centipede Press. Dave Carson was also around, showcasing some of his amazing black and white imagery.
Our column on Lovecraftian cinema, Cthulhu Eats the Movies, debuted with a review of Alien. There were also book reviews on Mansfield Park and Mummies, Gaslight Grotesque, Supernatural Magazine #14, Burning Shadows and the Triangulation: Dark Glass anthology.
G.W.Thomas discussed tentacles in his column Writing the Mythos. Both Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries returned from their hiatus, and we had reviews on these shows. Paula R. Stiles strapped in to watch Caprica and figured out what Life After People looks like. Plus, our retro look at the original V continued.
Some freaky Monster Bytes appeared, including a tale of a killer elevator, a bizarre New Year’s apparition, Tcho Tcho celebrations, and our regular This Month in Innsmouth feature.
We also launched the Horrific Romance Classifieds contest. Enter today!
Monday, February 1, 2010 marks the release of our third fiction issue. We’ve even got a flyer to promote it, which you can see here. It’s going to be great!
Many tentacles,
Silvia Moreno-Garcia and Paula R. Stiles
