Micro-interview: Berrien C. Henderson
Berrien C. Henderson’s short story “What Appollonius Rhodius Didn’t Say”, appears in the Fall 2009 fiction issue of Innsmouth Free Press.
Berrien C. Henderson lives in the deepest, darkest wilds of southeast Georgia with his wife and two children. He teaches high school English, is a long-time martial artist and has a big, geeky spot in his heart for literature, speculative fiction and comic books.
IFP: How did you become interested in writing Mythos/Lovecraftian stories?
BH: Mainly, I found Lovecraft natural in my geekhood. And via reading Robert E. Howard and researching his literary career.
IFP: What was the inspiration for your story?
BH: The thought that being rescued and becoming a victim have a thin boundary, at least in this piece of microfiction.
IFP: If you were a Cthulhu Mythos monster or character, who would you be and why?
BH: A shoggoth. It’s the myriad eyes and amoebic form.
