Review: V (2010) 2.03: “Laid Bare”

  • January 19, 2011

By Silvia Moreno-Garcia

So, this week, thanks to some torture and explosions, things are better. But that doesn’t mean V is good. I’m beginning to wonder if it, in fact, can ever be good. However, I thank merciful Cthulhu for some of the improvements which include the skinning of a Cylon. The mother-daughter thread, on the other hand, was so-so and the kidnapping bit came out of nowhere.
Anyway, let’s wade into the recap proper. Last week, Erica’s car rolled …

But now Anna has come for advice to her mother. I’m not sure why …

Review: V 2.01: Red Rain

  • January 5, 2011

By Silvia Moreno-Garcia

[spoiler alert]

V has returned. After the show limped through the last season, how does the opening of the second season fare? Better than the first, fortunately, but there’s something that still feels off about it. To be frank, this show does not have the epic, intense feel of Battlestar Galactica, but it doesn’t feel very fun either. However, it has improved by leaps and bounds compared to its flabby previous episodes. I guess that’s good? …
