Review: V (2009) 2.10: Mothers Day

  • March 16, 2011

By Silvia Moreno-Garcia

The season finale of V was a riveting hour of intrigue and action. Oh, wait. That was the show in the other universe. You know, the parallel Earth where they hired writers instead of minions of Dagon meant to torture me with an hour of what could only be described as a mess.

The last episode of the season was a rushed, contrived affair, with all the expository dialogue – of the variety of “Finally! My breeding …

The show opens with the humans figuring out at that the new buildings constructed by …

Review: V (2009) 2.08: “Uneasy Lies the Head”

  • March 2, 2011

By Silvia Moreno-Garcia

I have now come to accept something: you can never trust aliens. Last time, we had such a bad episode that it actually became good. This time around, despite a sex scene and a DNA blender, the show does not rise to those levels of hilarity. It’s ‘Meh’ Time once more and the Fifth Column is proven useless.  Just in case we’d forgotten how much they suck.

Anna’s dastardly plan to steal human DNA, put it in …
